When entering the Upper Mustang needs to register the special permit at the ACAP office at Kagbeni. This permit will allow you to explore for 10 days all the way to the Nepal China (Tibet) border called the Korala border one of the highest borders between Nepal and China.

 

And this permit is only issued by an authorized Trekking Company in Kathmandu or Pokhara. If you forget to registered the permit in Kagbeni, may have to come back or pay a fine in the Lo Monthang ACAP office.
